Anna Wilkie of Adel passed away at the Methodist hospital in Des Moines, October 4, after an illness of several weeks. She was 62 years of age.
Mrs. Wilkie was born at What Cheer, Iowa on November 6, 1890. She was the daughter of Joseph and Marie Veverka. When but a few months old she came with her parents and a sister to make her home on a farm near Earlham. She lived there until she was united in marriage to Fred O. Wilkie. Three sons came to bless this home, George of Menlo, James of Adel and Henry who preceded her in death.
She was a member of the Presbyterian church while residing near Earlham and later moving to Adel, she became an active member of the Christian church.
Surviving are her husband, Fred, two sons and five grandchildren. (One grandson preceded her in death). Also three sisters, and on (one) brother.
Funeral services were conducted at the Christian church in Adel and burial made at the Earlham cemetery.
