Marjorie Belle McDonald, daughter of Harry and Francis Eggleston McDonald, was born in Madison County, Iowa, on the second day of March 1913. She met her sudden and untimely death as a result of a fall Wednesday morning, Aug. 26, 1953, at her late home in Jefferson township.

On January 3, 1945, she was united in marriage with John L. Putney of the Howe vicinity. Since their marriage, they have lived in Grove and Jefferson townships, the past five years in the home where she passed away.

Marjorie was baptized as a child in the United Presbyterian faith, being a faithful member of that church during her years as a child, and young woman. Eight years ago she united with the Seventh Day Adventist church of Greenfield, where she continued her worship and service, in that faith. It was always her desire to live as she felt was the right way to live, and to walk humbly with her God.

Besides her husband John, she is survived by her parents and a brother, Albert and his family of Dexter; a brother, Clyde and his family of Des Moines, and one sister, Mrs. Lois Jaske and her family of Cheyenne, Wyo. She is also survived by her father-in-law, Charles Putney, and a sister-in-law, Sarah Holliday of the Howe neighborhood.

Besides those mentioned, she is survived by many relatives, and a great many friends, who were both shocked and grieved by her sudden and tragic passing, and their sympathies are with those close to her.
