Mary, daughter of William and Hannah Moon was born Mary 23rd, 1840 in Clinton Co., Ohio and died July 27th, 1911, aged 71 years, 2 months and 4 days, after a decline of about three months duration-being paralyzed the last eight days.

When a young woman she removed with a brother and sister to Hamilton Co., Indiana, where she united in marriage with Riley Edwards Oct. 5th, 1860. They moved to Earlham, Iowa in 1881, having lived in this vicinity nearly thirty years and by her quiet, kind disposition she has gained many friends.

She leaves to mourn their loss-a sister, Mrs. Esther Davis of David City, Nebr., two brothers, Neri Moon of New Burlington, Ohio and Samuel Moon of Dayton, Ohio, besides the devoted husband and five children-Mrs. Anna Farmer of Brooklyn, Indiana, Mrs. Josephine Rogan of Egger, Arkansas, and William, Ella and Walter, who are still in the parental home at Earlham, Iowa. One daughter, Mrs. Vera Hickman, preceded her mother to the better land.

The funeral service was held Friday afternoon at the home conducted by Rev. Kitch of Bear Creek and interment was in Earlham cemetery.
