OTIS WALKER OF WINTERSET DIES

Veteran of World War I Had Spent Life in This County

Otis Walker, a life-long resident of Madison county, died last Friday at his home in Winterset after an extended period of failing health. He was 60 years of age.

Mr. Walker was born in Webster township on Dec. 6, 1888, a son of Rolland and Susan Walker. His early life was spent in that community. During the first World war he served on the Argonne front in France with a machine gun company of the American expeditionary forces, and received numerous citations.

He was married March 20, 1920, to Maude E. Robison. They were the parents of one son. After his return from the war he farmed in Webster township until 1938, when, because of failing health, he moved to Winterset.

Surviving are his wife; his son, Andrew R. Walker of Des Moines; a granddaughter; and two brothers, Virge Walker of Lake Crystal, Minn., and the Rev. Amos L. Walker of Sumner.

Funeral services were held Monday from the Richards Funeral home, in charge of the Rev. I. S. Nay. Burial was made in the Pleasant View cemetery, southwest of Winterset.
