MRS. J. I. CALLISON PASSED THURSDAY

Death Comes Two Weeks After Golden Wedding Observance

Mrs. J. I. Callison, well-known Lincoln township resident, died last Thursday, Feb. 12, at the Methodist hospital in Des Moines where she had been a patient since last fall. She was 76 years of age.

Mrs. Callison was a life-long resident of this community. She was the former Eliza Fisher, daughter of L. L. and Mary Jane Church Fisher, and was born in Lincoln township Oct. 26, 1871. As a young woman she taught school in Madison county. She was married Jan. 26, 1898 to J. I. Callison, and they established their home in Lincoln township. In early life she was a member of the Macksburg Baptist church, transferring to the Blue Front church after her marriage, where she was an active member. She was also a charter member of the Clover club, and took an active interest in the affairs of her community.

Mr. and Mrs. Callison observed their Golden Wedding anniversary on Jan. 28 in her room at the Methodist hospital, attended by many relatives and friends.

She is survived by her husband; a brother, Charley Fisher of Anadarko, Okla.; a sister, Mrs. Hattie DeMar of Peru; 17 nieces and nephews; and 33 great nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were held Sunday from the Ramsey-Richards funeral home, in charge of the Rev. Frederick Cooper of Des Moines. Burial was made in the Clark cemetery.
