RAYMOND HANEY DIES IN ACCIDENT

Raymond L. Haney a native of Madison county was electrocuted Tuesday of last week while working on a highway construction project south of Tipton. For the last 10 years he had served as a superintendent for the Mickle and Ross Construction company of Newton. His death occurred when he touched a guy wire which was in contact with a high tension line.

Henry was 40 years of age. He was born near Winterset Aug 20, 1915, and spent the first 30 years of his life in this community. He was a son of the late Dennis Haney.

He was a veteran of World War II and a member of the Elks and Moose lodges at Newton;

Surviving are his wife, who was the former Bernice Allsup of this community; two sons, one of whom is serving with the U.W. army in Germany; four daughters; two grandchildren; a sister, Mrs. Elsie Penick of Woodland, Calif.; and two brothers, Paul Haney of Des Moines and Howard Haney of Austin, Minn.

Funeral services and burial were held Saturday at Newton.
