Amos Ferguson Left Madison County Many Years Ago
Amos S. Ferguson, former resident of the Barney community, died Tuesday, June 13 at his home in Chicago, where he had lived in recent years, according to information received here this week. He was 69 years of age.
Mr. Ferguson was a son of George and Annie Wheeler Ferguson. He was born at Barney July 25, 1880, and spent his early life in that community. He left there many years ago to enter the creamery business and its allied industries.
He is survived by his wife, Izah Pauline Ferguson; a twin sister, Amy McGriff of Monroe; and a brother, Tilden Ferguson of Grand Junction, Colo.
Funeral services were held in Chicago June 15. The body was cremated and the ashes brought to the cemetery at Barney where commital services were conducted June 17.
