December 12, 1933Death of Herman Killiam
Herman M. Killiam, 49, was found dead in his room at the Oxford hotel in Des Moines Tuesday morning. He complained of being ill Monday but it was not thought his condition was serious. Funeral services were held in Des Moines and burial was made in the St. Charles cemetery Thursday afternoon. Herman was the son of Mr. and Mrs. J. M. Killiam, residents of this place and also of Truro for many years and was in the garage business for some time, operating the garage where Leitch & Son are now located. He was a brother of Mrs. L. F. Lyons northwest of town. Other relatives are Mrs. Lizzie Erb of Der Moines, Mrs. Maude Goodrich of near Truro and Mrs. Grace Hall of Malvern and his aged mother, Mrs. Josephine Killiam, also of Malvern.
Transcriber's note: Transcribed as published. The preponderence of evidence, including his parents' gravestone lead to the conclusion that his name should be "Killam".
