Mrs. Vern Lemons

Flossie Parkins Lemons was born--illegible--January 31, 1902. She passed away at the home of her parents at Winterset Sunday evening, June 18, 1933 at the age of 31 years.

She spent her girlhood around Winterset and attended the Winterset schools. She was married to Mr. Vern Lemons on January 3, 1920 at Des Moines, where they have made their home. One child was born to this union, Vernal Lemons, now aged eight years.

In young womanhood she made a profession of her faith in Jesus and spent many of her last waking hours in prayer. She was of a kind and loving disposition and was a wonderfully loyal and faithful wife.

Her departing bereaves her husband and young son, Vernal. Also surviving her are her father and mother, Mr. and Mrs. Steve Parkins; her sisters, Mrs. Myrtle Bently of Winterset, Mrs. Nellie Johnson, Mrs. Eva Guiberson and her brothers, Charles, Allie and Pearl. A large number of relatives and friends join in extending eheir loving sympathy to the sorrowing family.

The funeral service was held at the Tidrick funeral home on Tuesday afternoon conducted by Rev. W. C. Porter. The burial was made in the McDonald cemetery in Jefferson township.

SERVICES TUESDAY MRS. VERN LEMONS

Services for Mrs. Vern Lemons, 31, who died Sunday evening at the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Stephen Parkins, were held Tuesday afternoon at the Tidrick funeral home; burial was in the McDonald cemetery in Jefferson cemetery. The Rev. W. C. Porter was in charge of the services. Mrs. Lemons had been in ill health several years and no hope had been held for her recovery for some time.

Mrs. Lemons was born in Madison county January 31, 1902. Her marriage took place January 3, 1920 at Des Moines.

Those who survive are her husband and eight-year-old son Vernol, her parents, her sisters, Mrs. Myrtle Bentley of Winterset, Mrs. Eva Guiberson and her brothers, Charles, Allie and Pearle.
