July 25, 1962MICHAEL GAMBLE DIES AT WHEEL OF CAR
Michael Gamble, 77, of Apache, Oklahoma suffered a fatal heart attack near Osceola Tuesday while driving back home after a visit in Winterset.
Mr. Gamble had been visiting here with his brother, John Gamble of Winterset. With another brother, W. B. Gamble, 83, of Cygne, Kansas, they left Winterset Tuesday morning on the return trip home.
On Highway No. 69, south of Osceola, the car Michael Gamble was driving went off the road and plunged into a field. The Clarke county medical examiner reported the driver had suffered a heart attack and died at the wheel, resulting in the car going out of control.
The two passengers, W. B. Gamble and Mrs. Michael Gamble were taken to the Methodist hospital in Des Moines with serious injuries.
