Death of Miss Mary Ewalt

Miss Mary Ewalt, who taught fifth grade in the North Ward school in Winterset, died at her home near Randolph, Iowa, burial taking place on Monday at Randolph. Miss Ewalt taught here during 1917-19. She was a born teacher, full of energy and enthusiasm, thoroughly alive to her responsibilities and conscientious in all of her work. After leaving Winterset, Miss Ewalt remained at home on the farm. Her health had been impaired of late through the development of sugar diabetes, but she was advised that she might teach for a time by taking strict care of herself, but death came as a great shock to her old friends here.
