Claire D. Seibert was 54 years of age at his death. He was born at Clearfield on March 9, 1911, a son of Walter C. and Dora Darlington Seibert and spent his early life in that community.
He was married at Creston on June 10, 1938 to Lois Florence Swan. All of their married life had been spent in Madison County.
He long had been active in the affairs of his community. He had served on the Madison county Extension council, was a member of the Masonic lodge, and Eastern Star, and the St. Charles Lions club. He was active in the St. Charles Methodist church serving on the church board.
He was active in the Democratic party in Madison county and in 1964 was elected the first state representative from the newly created Madison-Adair county district.
In addition to his daughter, he is survived by two sons, Wally and Bill Seibert of St. Charles; his mother, Mrs. Dora Seibert of Winterset; and two brothers, Dr. Cecil W. Seibert of Waterloo and Ivan Seibert of Washington, D. C.
