Former Resident Death Reported

Miss Ethel Sedgwick, a resident of the United Presbyterian Home in Washington, Iowa, for the past twelve years, died January 23rd, 1979. She was born in Zanesville, Ohio, February 23rd, 1881.

She came to Iowa to care for her aunt, Mrs. McMillan, whose husband owned the Clothing Store, now known as Wrights. Miss Sedgwick was a registered nurse, having taken her training in Columbus, Ohio. After the death of Mrs. McMillan, she remained in Winterset, making it her home and continued her nursing profession for many years. She was active in the Presbyterian Church. Her death occurred just one month before her 98th birthday.

A memorial service for Miss Sedgwick will be at Even-song at 6:30 at the United Presbyterian Home in Washington, Iowa.
