"To every purpose under the heaven there is a time and a season. There is a time to be born." Guy walter Lenocker was born in the farm home south of Dexter, June 10, 1878 to Fred and Suvilla Druschel Lenocker. He was one of a family of 11. Only one brother, Jake, survives him.
He grew to young manhood in the Dexter-Penn Center neighborhood, attended rural school and the Dexter Normal School. He grew "in widow and stature and in favor with God and man." He became a member of the Penn Center Methodist church in 1915.
He was joined in wedlock to Miss Ora Alice Morford in the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. J. J. Morford; JUne 25, 1902. Seven children living today have blessed this union. One tiny son, Robert, died in infancy. Daughter Fern, Mrs. Bruce Algreen lives in this vicinity as well as sons, Paul, Fred Jasper and Ray who are farmers in this community. Guy was a member of the Dexter Odd Fellow and the Rebekah Lodge for 42 years as well as the Encampment and Auxiliary of Stuart.
He was a kind and devoted husband, a tender and thoughtful father and a good and helpful neighbor. He was a friendly person well met on the street and will be missed by those who were accustomed to chat with him about the changing times and customs of the day. He was ambitious even into his latest years but failing strength prevented him from the accomplishment of his plans for further building and for bettering the community.
"There is a time to die." Guy Walter Lenocker departed this life on the morning of May 20, 1957. Had lived into the month of June the 10th day he would have arrived at the age of 79.
