Marvin Secrest 53, of 8363 N.E. 38th Ave., died of a heart attack Saturday, Sept. 9 at Mercy Hospital Medical Center. Services were held Tuesday at Rising Sun Church of Christ. Burial was at the Altoona Cemetery.
Mr. Secrest was born in Madison County and had lived in Mason City before moving to Des Moines in 1970. He was a branch manager of Altoona and Ankeny for US West Communications. He was a member of the Methodist church.
Surviving are his wife, Linda; two sons, Steve of Phoenix, Ariz. and Brian of Altoona; his mother, Pearl Secrest and a sister Thelma Stevens, both of Winterset; and a grandchild.
He was preceded in death by his father and a brother.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Iowa Youth Foundation for Agricultural Advancement.
