Mrs. Esther B. Scott

Esther Bennett Scott passed away at her home in Macksburg on June 25, 1923. On May 20th she had a fall, causing a broken hip, from which she never recovered. Her suffering was intense for more than five weeks, when death finally relieved her.

Her trust in her Savior was unfaltering. During her illness, she used to sing "O Take Me Home, O Take Me Home, Blessed Jesus," then maybe she would try to clap her hands.

After a brief service at the home, the funeral services were held at the M. E. church by Rev. Kelly, interment being in the Macksburg cemetery.

She leaves to mourn her loss, an aged husband, one daughter, Elma and two sisters, Mrs. Catherine Raymer of Elkhart, Ind., and Mrs. Amelia Swartz of Wakarusa, Ind.
