Gyle Alfred Rustan, St. Charles

Gyle Alfred Rustan of rural St. Charles died Sunday, June 26, at home at the age of 69. Funeral services were held Wednesday morning, June 29, at Collins Funeral Home with Rev. Byron Ayers officiating. Burial was at Union Chapel Cemetery.

Born Oct. 27, 1913 in Monroe County, Iowa, he was the son of Albine A. and Nellie Richman Rustan. He married Nettie Logsdon on September 12, 1938 in Princeton, Mo. She preceded him in death in October 1979.

A mechanic and farmer, he was a member of the Madison County Rock Club and International Association of Machinists. He had lived in St. Charles the past 27 years after moving from Des Moines.

Survivors include his son Ronald of St. Charles, daughter, Shirley Louise Brown of Peru; brother Homer of Des Moines, sister, Dorothy Carney of Weldon, Iowa; four grandchildren, and one great-grandchild.

In addition to his wife, Nettie, he was preceded in death by his parents, two children Willard and Terry, two brothers Emery and Stanley.
