Pioneer Resident of Iowa Succumbs at Age of 87 Years
Mrs. S. W. McClintock, one of Winterset's oldest residents, died at her home here Sunday morning at the age of 87 years.
Mrs. McClintock was the former Anna Catherine Gunlock, daughter of Conrad and Clarissa Gunlock and was born in Ohio December 20, 1851.
She was reared in Iowa, and spent most of her long life here. She spent several months of the past year in California, but returned to her home here prior to her last illness.
She was married to S. W. McClintock on April 22, 1872. They were the parents of five children, two of whom preceded her in death. Mr. McClintock died on March 7, 1929.
Mrs. McClintock was reared in the Methodist faith, but at her marriage, she joined the Baptist Church and had been a member for more than 50 years.
She is survived by three children: Mrs. C. G. Day of Pasorobles, California; Mildred McClintock of Denver, Colorado; and Rex McClintock of Osceola, Iowa. She also leaves 10 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Tuesday from the Ramsey-Richards funeral home in charge of the Rev. J. H. Cochrane, Jr. Burial was made in the Winterset cemetery.
