HELEN DAY, Winterset

Services for Helen Day, 89, who died Tuesday at Bethesda Care Center in Winterset, where she had lived, were held Feb. 23 at the Watts-Lindsay Funeral Home, Lorimor, with the Rev. John Ling officiating. Burial was at the Buelah Cemetery south of Lorimor.

Born July 24, 1894 in Wellman, Iowa, she was the daughter of Darrel and Mila McCleary Swendler. On Apr. 20, 1918, she married Samuel Day in Talmage. Mr. Day died in 1965.

Mrs. Day was a homemaker and lived most of her life in the Thayer and Lorimor area. She moved to Winterset seven years ago.

Survivors include sons, John of Thayer and Lee M. Day of Ithaca, N.Y., two grandchildren and three great grandchildren.

She was also preceded in death by her parents and a daughter.
