Everett Compton, son of Martin and Elizabeth Compton was born in Madison county, Iowa October 17, 1870 and passed from this life August 21, 1950 at Broadlawn hospital in Des Moines, age 79 years, 10 months and 10 days.

He was married to Effie Fry, February 18, 1891. To this union was born two sons, Royal Glen and one son who died in infancy. They lived on a farm near Earlham until they were separated in 1912. Later he was married to Mrs. Effie Fredricks who preceded him in death. To this union was born one son, Martin of Chicago, Illinois. He was a birth right member of the Conservative Friends of North Branch. He leaves to mourn his passing, two sons, Royal of Winterset, Iowa and Martin of Chicago, Illinois, also a step-daughter, Alice Landis of Chicago. Three grandchildren and three great grandchildren.

Funeral services were held at the Welch Funeral home. Burial in the North Branch cemetery. Rev. Arthur Hadley officiating.
