Lenore Richards, a former St. Charles resident, died Tuesday, May 5, at her home in Spirit Lake, Iowa. She was 79 years old.
Born in St. Charles on May 30, 1901, she was the daughter of Jessie and Ellsworth Banta. She attended St. Charles schools.
She was married to Fred Shearer and the couple had two daughters. Mr. Shearer died in March of 1930.
In 1961, she married Franklin Richards and in 1967 the couple moved to Spirit Lake.
She is survived by her husband, Franklin; two daughters, Flossie Louise Ridout and Audrey Jeanette Stone; seven grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at Donovan-Leyson Chapel in Spirit Lake, Rev. James Patrick officiating.
Interment was at Lakeview Cemetery in Spirit Lake.
