Des Moines Register - December 2, 1998

Charles V. Kasal, 74, of Earlham died of complications of diabetes Monday at Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines. The body was cremated, and memorial services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Congregational Church in Stuart. Graveside services will be at 3:30 p.m. Friday at National Cemetery near Vining.

Mr. Kasal was born in Chelsea and moved to Earlham 52 years ago from Toledo, Ia. He was a retired superintendent with Martin-Marietta Quarry in Earlham and a member of All Saints Catholic Church in Stuart.

Survivors include his wife, Imogene; a son, Michael of Dallas Center; four daughters, Dixie Daggett of Earlham, Dinah Carnes of Phoenix, Cindy Turtone of Black Canyon City, Ariz., and Jeannie Osborn of Casey; two brothers, Donald of Tama and Rodger of Toledo; a sister, Betty Flynn of Toledo; 12 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
