SERVICES FRIDAY FOR A. O. BLACK

Funeral services were held last Friday from the Richards Funeral home in Winterset for Albert O. Black, whose death occurred Wednesday, Nov. 28, at a Winterset nursing home. The Rev. W. W. Steinmetz, pastor of the Winterset Methodist church, conducted the services. Burial was made in the Winterset cemetery.

Mr. Black was 85 years of age at his death. He was born May 10, 1871, near Bell City in Hamilton county, Illinois, a son of Henry and Dias Ann Black. He was married Oct. 19, 1892, at Tuscola, Ill., to Nora E. Hoots. In 1913 they moved to a farm west of Winterset, where they lived until Mrs. Black's death in 1942. He stayed on at the farm for a while, then lived with his children. Since 1951 he had been at the nursing home where his death occurred.

Surviving are his eight children, Charles Black of Greenfield, Mrs. David Spence of Oelwein, Mrs. Harold Mayer and Glen and Maurice Black, all of Winterset, Paul Black of Council Bluffs, Mrs. Kirk Cochran of Lorimor, and Mrs. Donald Crawford of Peru. He also leaves 20 grandchildren and 26 great grandchildren.
