Obituary

Died, July 22, 1895, Mary, infant daughter of Mr. and Mrs. S. M. Cocklin, of Douglas township, aged one year, three months and ten days.

The funeral services were conducted by W. C. Smith, at the home, before a large concourse of sympathizing friends. Mary was a sweet baby, loved and cherished by all; but the Good Shepherd has claimed the lamb for his upper fold. Heaven is greatly made up with little children. They are ties that allure many to that brighter world; for where are treasures are there will our hearts be also. How near the gate of heaven seems when we know our children have passed through it. Lets us find sweetest comfort in the thought that if Christ was willing to take little children up in his arms and bless them while here on earth, he is just as willing to bestow his love upon them now. Of such is the kingdom of heaven. The parents have the sympathy of all, and the prayers of the church.
