OLGA PETERSON OF WINTERSET DIES

Had Operated Nursing Home In This Community for 20 Years

Mrs. Olga M. Peterson, operator of the Peterson nursing home in Winterset for 20 years, died Monday, Oct. 1, at her home in Winterset. She was 65 years of age.

Mrs. Peterson was a life-time resident of Madison county. She was born here, Feb. 25, 1897, a daughter of Charles A. and Clara Shackleford Berry.

She was married Aug. 7, 1916, to Clarence E. Peterson. His death occurred March 3, 1962.

She was a member of the Ord Church.

Mrs. Peterson was active and prominent in nursing home circles in Iowa. She was a charter member of the Iowa nursing home association, was a past president of the central district and a member of the board of directors fo the state organization. She was also a charter member of the Happy Hour club here.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Mrs. Cleta Brittain on Feb. 22 of this year.

Surviving are two sons, Clark and Clyde Peterson of Winterset; two daughters, Mrs. Clella Rogers of Winterset and Mrs. Clara Post of Des Moines; 16 grandchildren; two great grandchildren; two brothers, Orra and Omer Berry of Winterset; and a sister, Mrs. Mabel Davis of Winterset.

Funeral services were to be held this Wednesday at 2 p.m. from the First Methodist church of Winterset, conducted by the Rev. Earl Travis of Houstonia, Mo. Burial was to be made in the Winterset cemetery.
