Life-Long Resident Died on Monday at Memorial Hospital

Leonard L. Pearson, a life-long resident of Madison county, died Monday, April 23, at Madison county Memorial hospital in Winterset, after a brief illness. He was 78 years of age.

A son of Samuel and Jane Pearson, he was born April 18, 1878. His active life was spent in farming in various localities of Madison county.

He was married on Dec. 15, 1908 to Etta V. Lamb. They were parents of six children, all of whom survive their father.

He leaves his wife; the six children, Mrs. Charles Kimmel and Ernest Pearson of Winterset, Sam and Loyal Pearson of Des Moines, Mrs. Roy Cambridge of Stuart, and Mrs. Phillip Mirci of Westminister, Colo.; seven grandchildren; a brother, Roy Pearson of Earlham; and three sisters, Mrs. Rosa Smith of Redfield, Mrs. Chester Smith of Earlham and Mrs. Roy Kalbach of Dexter.

Funeral services were to be held this Wednesday at 2 p.m. from the Anderson home for funerals, conducted by the Rev. Warren Hile, pastor of the Winterset Christian church. Burial was to be made in the Winterset cemetery.
