Richard E. Day, 69, of Des Moines died of congestive heart failure Dec. 30, 2002, in his home.

Burial of the cremains was at Resthaven Mausoleum in West Des Moines.

Dick Day was born Dec. 25, 1933, in Fort Dodge to Lawrence and Olive (Peterson) Day. He was a bookkeeper for Central State Theaters in Des Moines, retiring in 1998. Dick was a member of Grand View Golf Club and the Variety Club, both of Des Moines.

He is survived by a brother, Dean Day of Winterset; a sister, Deanna D. of Latimer; two daughters, Leanne Morgan and Christy Flournoy, both of California; and six grandchildren.

Memorial contributions may be directed to the Multiple Sclerosis National Society (Iowa Chapter).

Arrangements were handled by McLaren’s Resthaven Chapel & Mortuary in West Des Moines.
