Richard M. Carter, 72, of Greenfield, died of a respiratory ailment on Friday, April 25, 2003 at home. Memorial services are 1:00p.m. Friday, May 2 at Dunn’s Funeral Home.

Richard was born in Patterson, and had lived in Winterset before moving to Greenfield seven years ago. He was a member of the Baptist Church. Richard enjoyed dancing and fixing things, he was a jack of all trades.

He is survived by his wife, Shirley Carter of Greenfield; his mother, Wilma Carter of Winterset; a son, Gregg Carter and his wife Connie of Bevington; two stepsons, Larry Fisher and Loren Fisher; a stepdaughter, LaVonne Wyant; a sister, Kathy Spradlin and husband John; a brother, Howard Carter and wife Evelyn of Winterset; two grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
