1978Max Osborn Died Last Wednesday
Winterset resident Max E. Osborn, 65, of 620 S. 8th Avenue, died Wednesday, August 30, 1978, at Memorial Hospital. He was a lifetime resident of this county, a self-employed craftsman, experience in construction and repair, including painting and paperhanging.
The son of Earl and Sally Palmer Osborn, Mr. Osborn was born March 10, 1913 in Peru, Iowa. His marriage to Ella D. Morse took place April 12, 1934 in Winterset.
Survivors include his wife; a son, Robert G. Osborn of Winterset; a brother, Homer Osborn of Winterset and three sisters, Hattie Davis of Osceola, Vera Igo of Winterset and Opal Ahart of Spirit Lake. He was preceded in death by his parents and a son, Elbert Osborn.
Funeral services for Max Osborn were conducted Saturday, September 2, 1978 at 10 a.m. from Collins Funeral Home with burial at the Winterset Cemetery. Rev. Scott Grotewold officiated.
