Homer E. Osborn of Winterset died Saturday, June 16, at home at the age of 74. Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon, June 19, at Collins Funeral Home in Winterset with Rev. Jerry Zanker officiating. Burial was at Peru Cemetery.
Born Dec. 9, 1909 in Peru, he was the son of Earl and Sally Palmer Osborn. He married Grace Kilmer Morse on June 2, 1934 in Winterset. His wife survives him.
A retired truck driver, he was a self-employed mechanic until his retirement in 1972. A resident for 43 years, he was a member of the First Christian Church.
He also is survived by two sons, Walter of Newton and Dennis of Marion; four daughters, Margaret Bittinger of Rockville, Md.; Darlene Eckstein of Winterset, Diane Kerr of Summerville, S. C. and Dorothy Beebe of Dallas Center; three sisters, Hallie Davis of Osceola, Opal Ahart of Spirit Lake and Vera Igo of Winterset; 17 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother and two infant sisters.
