Philip J. Arthurs, 69, of Karen Acres Nursing Home in Urbandale died of pneumonia there Wednesday. The body was cremated, and memorial services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Windsor United Methodist Church, of which he was a member. Burial of the cremains will be at Glendale Cemetery.
Mr. Arthurs was born in Mellette, S.D. and had lived there and in Storm Lake before moving to the Des Moines area in 1960. He had been a claims supervisor with Continental Western Insurance Co. and was an Army veteran of the Korean War.
He is survived by his wife, Marilyn; a daughter, DeeAnn McCauley of Adel; a son Daniel of Winterset; a brother, Duane of Amboy, Minn.; and four grandchildren.
Memorial contributions may be made to his church. Hamilton’s funeral Home is handing arrangements.
