Not Long Separated in Death.
Last week this paper had a notice of the death of at Baldwin, Kans., of Asa Darnall, formerly of this city. Now comes news of the death of his wife, which occurred only six days later, on February 5. Mrs. Darnall will be remembered by the old settlers of this community. Her maiden name was Seath, she was married to Darnall in Indiana, before their settlement here. There were formerly relatives of her living hereabouts, but we understand they have all moved away.
It looks like a double bereavement to family and friends, and yet it seems eminently fitting the two who had journeyed together during long and useful lives, should pass to their reward so near together. Mr. Darnall, while in (t)his county was a local Methodist preacher and after going to Kansas he was for some time in the traveling connections.
Transcriber’s note: Conflicting data indicates her maiden name was “Scott”.
