Mrs. Mamie Southworth died at the home of her daughter in Creston, December 3rd, at the age of 87 years.
She was born August 18, 1873 in Davis County, Iowa the daughter of Henry and Almira Rowe. She moved with her parents, at an early age, to Madison county near Macksburg, where she grew to womanhood.
On August 15, 1891, she was married to Charles Eugene Southworth. They farmed in and near Macksburg until their retirement in 1946, when they moved to Creston.
Mrs. Southworth was preceded in death by her husband and a son Harry.
She is survived by a daughter, Bonnie Crawford of Creston and one son Milton (Jim) Garnett of Winterset, a sister, Mrs. Pearl Wilson of Winterset, 6 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Monday, December 5th, at 2 o'clock at the Macksburg Methodist church conducted by the Rev. Frank. Burial was in the Moon Cemetery.

Mrs. Mamie L. Southworth, 87, died at 2 a. m. today at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Bonnie Crawford, 107 south Jarvis street. She had been ill about six years and had made her home with her daughter for some time.
Funeral arrangements are incomplete at this time. Her body is at Coens Home for Funerals.
Mamie L. Rowe was born at Bloomfield, May 18, 1873. She was the daughter of Henry and Elmira Johns Rowe. She was married at Macksburg, Aug. 15, 1891, to Charles E. Southworth, who preceded her in death in 1949.
Mrs. Southworth is survived by her daughter, Mrs. Crawford, of Creston; an adopted son, Milton Jarnett (sic) of Winterset; six grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren; and a sister, Mrs. Pearl Wilson of Winterset. One son, Henry Rowe Southworth, preceded her in death.
Mrs. Southworth had lived in the Macksburg vicinity most of her life.

Funeral services for Mrs. Mamie L. Southworth were held at the Methodist church at Macksburg at 2 p. m. today, Rev. Donald Frank, the pastor, officiated. Burial was in the Moon cemetery at Macksburg. Her body was taken to the church from Coens Home for Funerals here to lie in state before the services. The casket was not opened after the services.
Mrs. Southworth, 87, died early Saturday at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Bonnie Crawford, in Creston, after a six-year illness. She had lived in the Macksburg community most of her life until coming to Creston in 1946.

Mrs. Mamie Southworth died at the home of her daughter in Creston on December 3, 1960 at the age of 87 years, 3 months, and 15 days.
She was born Mamie L. Rowe on August 18, 1873 in Davis County, Iowa, the daughter of Henry and Almira Johns Rowe. She moved with her parents, at an early age, to Madison County near Macksburg, where she grew to womanhood.
On August 15, 1891, she was united in marriage to Charles Eugene Southworth. They, with their family, Bonnie, Henry, and Milton (Jimmy), farmed in and near Macksburg until their retirement in 1946, when they moved to Creston.
One son, Henry, and her husband, Charles, preceded her in death.
She is survived by one sister, Mrs. Pearl Wilson of Winterset, her daughter, Bonnie Crawford of Creston, and one son, Milton Garnett of Winterset, 6 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren, and a niece and a nephew, and a host of friends.
Funeral services were held Monday, December 5, 1960 at 2 p.m. at the Macksburg Methodist church conducted by the Rev. Franks. Burial was in Moon cemetery.
