Crash Victim Is Former Resident

Richard L. Spidle, 19, of Leon, one of the youths killed in a mutliple car-truck crash Monday near Leon, is a former Winterset resident.

He worked last summer at Gendler's quarry east of Winterset, and was at the Bill Ryner farm last week where he exchanged truck boxes. His father, Eldon Spidle, is a former shovel operator at Gendler's.

Another youth, Donald Barrett, 20, of Leon, was killed in the crash on highway 69.
