Lawrence Freestone, Winterset

Lawrence M. Freestone, 94, of the Winterset Care Center and formerly of the Dawson area, died February 18, 1994 at the Madison county Memorial Hospital in Winterset. Funeral services were held February 22, 1994 at the Murdock Funeral Home in Perry with the Rev. Roger Schlaefer officiating. Burial was at the Violet Hill Cemetery.

He was born in the rural Perry area on February 16, 1900 to Mac and Adeline (Buck) Freestone. He farmed in the Dawson and Redfield area until retiring in 1965 and moving to the nursing home in 1989. He was a member of the Peace Lutheran Church.

She (He) was preceded in death by his parents; three wives; two sons; three brothers and four sisters.

Surviving relatives include one son, Ned Freestone of West Cliffe, Colo., one daughter, Dixie Murphy of St. Charles; six grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren and three step-great-grandchildren.

Memorial may be directed to the Peace Lutheran Church in Earlham and may be left at the funeral home.
