Fayrene Morgan, Martensdale

Fayrene Morgan, 71, of Martensdale died from complications of emphysema Aug. 1, 1998 at Mercy Hospital Medical Center in Des Moines.

Funeral services were held today at Overton Funeral Home in Indianola. Burial was in St. Charles Cemetery.

Fayrene Morgan was born in Denton, Texas. She lived in St. Charles and Van Meter before moving to Martensdale four years ago. Fayrene had worked as a bookkeeper for Zales, Sears and the Brenton Bank in Grimes. She also owned an upholstery business.

She is survived by two sons, Dennis Morgan of St. Charles and Mark Morgan Sr. of Winterset; two daughters, LaVon Boucher of Sandyville and Charmene Perkins of Des Moines; two brothers, Frank Hines Jr. of Marne and Charles Hines of Des Moines; one sister, Essie Mae Leak of Kilgore, Texas; 11 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
