FORMER RESIDENT IS BURIED HERE

Clarence J. Burch Died on Aug. 22 at Home in California

Clarence J. Burch, formerly of Madison county, died Aug. 22 at his home in Los Angeles, Calif., where he had been living the last three years. He was 60 years of age, and had been in failing health for several years.

Mr. Burch was the oldest son of John and Mary Frances Lee Burch, and was born in Madison county, Feb. 21, 1886. His early life was spent in this community. He later moved to Des Moines, and from there went to Davenport in 1927. In 1943 he moved to California.

He was a member of the Masonic lodge in Winterset for the past 30 years.

He was married July 9, 1924, to Cressie L. Tish of Adel. They were the parents of one daughter, Frances Leone. His second marriage was to Hazel Currier, in January, 1945.

Mr. Burch is survived by his wife; his daughter, Mrs. Frances Gillenwater of Long Island City, N.Y.; two sisters, Mrs. Marie Davis of Washington state, and Mrs. Myrtle Bertholf of Hollywood, Calif.; and two brothers, Roscoe C. Burch of Davenport, and Harry E. Burch of Winterset.

Funeral services were to be held this Wednesday from Ramsey-Richards funeral home in charge of the Rev. L. F. Davis. Burial was to be made in the Winterset cemetery, with Masonic rites.
