Blanche Thrift Bertholf, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Thrift, was born in Madison county, Iowa, October 20, 1881, and passed from this life at her home July 3d, 1914, at the age of 31 years, 8 months and 13 days.
Blanche was united in the holy bonds of matrimony with Elwood Bertholf November 28th, 1906. She leaves to mourn her departure, her husband, father, mother, one sister, Lelah, and two brothers, Benton and Guy.
She has been a patient sufferer for several months and desired and hoped that she might be permitted to remain with her relatives and friends. But it was the Master’s will that she should go. She assured those near her that her prayers had been answered and she was ready and willing to enter the great beyond from whence no one returneth, knowing all was well with her. Thus closes the life of one of our kind hearted, true, young women of the neighborhood. She will be greatly missed by those who were closely associated with her.
Though her lips are closed and her voice we hear no more, the assurance given by her, “that all is well”, gives comfort to the aching hearts of her relatives and friends, feeling that she rests peacefully on that golden shore, awaiting the reuniting of the family in the home above.
The funeral occurred from the home in Lincoln township Sunday conducted by Rev. Hohanshelt of the M.E. church and interment was made in the Rock City cemetery.
