HUBERT CLARK DIES FROM GUN WOUND

Injury Received December 24th Proves Fatal To High School Junior

Hurbert Clark, fifteen year old son of Mr. and Mrs. Vernon Clark of Douglas township, died at his home, Tuesday, January fifth, from a gun wound received on the day before Christmas. The boy had gone hunting with his cousins----(one line cut off microfilm) afternoon, December 24th, and they had wounded a squirrel. They placed their rifles, on a tree log and started to chase it. In some way, one of the rifles was discharged, and the bullet went through the calf of the boy's leg.

A doctor was summoned, and it was not thought that the wound was serious. Ante tetanus serum was administered, but his condition became worse. It was not regarded as critical however, until Tuesday and he died at 11 o'clock that morning.

The boy was a junior in the Winterset high school. He leaves his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Vernon Clark and two brothers, Cecil, aged 17 and Raymond 10.

Funeral services will be held at Tidrick's Funeral home at 2 o'clock this afternoon.
