JIM STEVENSON, Truro

James "Jim" William Stevenson, 61, of Truro, died Aug. 29, 2004, at the Kavanagh House in Des Moines.

Funeral services were held today, Wednesday, at the Peru United Methodist Church with the Rev. Kevin Smith officiating. Burial of the cremains will take place at a later date.

Jim Stevenson was born June 7, 1943, in Omaha, Neb., to Harvey Fred and Ruby (Hineline) Stevenson. He moved with his family to Peru in 1951, where he attended school. In 1961, he graduated from Winterset High School. On March 7, 1970, he was united in marriage to Vikki Stephenson at the Peru United Methodist Church. They resided in Truro throughout their marriage. Jim was a pressman for Maynard Printing Company for 24 years. When he was younger, he, along with his father, maintained many cemeteries in the surrounding communities. He also was a member of the Peru United Methodist Church and, as a youth, active in Boy Scouts.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Harvey Stevenson, Jr.

He is survived by his wife, Vikki, of Truro; and two daughters, Crystal Ann of Truro and fianc'e Ray McCleary of Des Moines and Kelly Lynn of Des Moines.

Funeral arrangements were handled by Kale Funeral Homes of Osceola and Truro.
