MRS. BERTHA MADSEN OF MACKSBURG DIES

Mrs. Bertha Madsen of Macksburg, a resident of Madison county most of her life, died Monday, April 19, at a nursing home in St. Charles. She was 82 years of age.

Mrs. Madsen was a daughter of John and Sarah Baker and was born July 26, 1882, in Taylor county. She was a member of the Methodist church.

She leaves three brothers, Rufus and Thomas Baker of Macksburg and George Baker of Des Moines; and two sisters, Mrs. Minnie Sheppard of Scranton, Kan., and Mrs. Elsie Porter of Macksburg.

Funeral services were held from the Macksburg Methodist church, in charge of the Rev. James Nicholson. Burial was made in Moon cemetery at Macksburg.
