Charles Raymond Brown was born at Gilmore, Iowa, December 8, 1883. He passed away March, the second at the Horton Nursing Home near Winterset.
He moved to Stuart, Iowa with his parents when a boy. He was married December 8, 1902 to Effie Strange of Stuart where they made their home for several years. Then they moved to Muskegon, Michigan where they lived until Mrs. Brown’s death in 1932.
Later he returned to Iowa and has made his home in DeSoto since 1939. He was preceded in death by three brothers and three sisters. He leaves to mourn his passing one sister, Mrs. Thomas Buck of Muskegon, Michigan and several nieces and nephews.
Services were held at the DeSoto Methodist church, Friday, March 4, 1955 at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Anthony Blankers, officiating.
Music was furnished by Mrs. Bessie Riley with Mrs. Elsie Riley, accompanist.
Casket bearers were; Myrel Minnick, Claude Stump, John Knapp, Max Riley, Roy Woolery and H. R. Jensen.
Interment was in South Oak Grove cemetery, Stuart.
