At the age of three years she came with her parents to Madison county, Iowa where she grew to womanhood and was united in marriage to Wm. N. Baker. On April 30, 1934 they celebrated their Golden Wedding anniversary, on their farm west of Peru, where they lived the greater part of their life. She is survived by her husband, William N. Baker, and five children; Grover C. Baker of Peru, Cloyd Baker, Mrs. T. C. Landis, Mrs. John Frey of Des Moines, and Mrs. Virgil Fenimore of Winterset, two brothers, Walter S. Young of Winterset, and Frank Young of Norcatur, Kan. She also is survived by seven grandchildren and three great grandchildren, all of whom she was very devoted. At the age of 15 years she joined the Methodist church and was a very active and faithful member the remainder of her life.

She was president of the Peru Ladies' Aid society for a number of years; a charter member of the W.R.C. and during the World war was especially active in Red Cross work.

Mrs. Baker leaves many relatives and friends to mourn her loss.

Burial was made in the Peru cemetery. Acting pallbearers were her five grandchildren: Gene Baker, Milan Landis, Delbert Cook, Russell Fraser of Des Moines, Jimmie Frey of Clear Lake, and Grant Kimmer of Indianola.
