RUFUS F. STOUT Dies In Oregon

Rufus F. Stout, a former resident of the Patterson community, died Tuesday, Jan. 11, 1966, at a hospital in Roseburg, Ore., following a heart attack.

Mr. Stout was born at Patterson July 25, 1891, a son of Elvis and Margaret Seymour Stout. He was married Dec. 27, 1916, in New Bedford, Mass. Since his retirement from the U. S. Navy 29 years ago, he and his wife had made their home in the Wilbur, Ore., area.

He was a veteran of both World War I and World War II, serving until his retirement in 1945.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Frances Neiss of Pensacola, Fla., and four grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Jan. 14 at the Chapel of the Firs in Sutherland, Ore., with private burial at the Williamette National cemetery in Portland. Loren Stout of Waukee, son of Mrs. O. D. Stout of Winterset, flew to Oregon to attend the services and returned home Jan. 17.
