Alice McAllister Services Held

Alice Amelia McAllister of Winterset Care Center North died Saturday, March 7, at Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines.

Mrs. McAllister was born Jan. 26, 1901, to John and Eldora Tilton Roach in Lee Township near Cumming. She lived most of her life there and in Jefferson Township.

She was united in marriage to Francis McAllister in 1932 and he preceded her in death in 1970.

Surviving are her children, Francis McAllister, Jr. of Winterset, Russell Lander of Winterset, Bill Lander of Des Moines, Ruth Young of Ventura, Calif., and Mary Swanson of Dawson, Iowa, one sister, Edith Dippold of Booneville, 11 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Wednesday, March 11, at 3:00 p.m. at McLaren's Funeral Home in West Des Moines, with burial at the Orilla Cemetery near Cumming.
