Wednesday, January 11, 1899Clanton Valley: Died at her home, 3 miles north of St. Charles, Jan. 4th, Mrs J. G. Martin. She had been a sufferer for several years with consumption.
She was married to J. G. Martin Dec. 10, 1885. To them were born 5 children, only 2 of whom are now living.
The funeral was held at Blair Chapel, where her remains were laid to rest under the auspices of the Eastern Star.

Notwithstanding the severe cold of last Friday there was a large attendance at the funeral of Mrs. J. G. Martin at Blair Chapel. Many friends of the worthy lady in St. Charles were present, the pall-bearers being from this city, namely, Mrs. L. W. Ralston, Mrs. L. C. Minard, Mrs. M. I. Bean, Mrs. Z. F. Phillips, Mrs. O. M. Horton and Mrs. E. P. Bell. An appropriate discourse was delivered by Rev. Mr. Zyke of the U. B. church, and excellent music furnished by the choir.
