SARAH ANN REESE DIES AT 91 YEARS

Elderly Woman Had Lived in Winterset With Daughter Several Years

Mrs. Sarah Ann Reese, a resident of Winterset for the past several years, died early Tuesday morning at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Arthur Vanderberg. She was 91 years of age.

Mrs. Reese was a native of Mahaska county, where she was born July 8, 1854. She was married to Togarmah Reese on Nov. 18, 1874. In 1877 they moved to Kansas, living for a time near McPherson, and later at Yates Center, where they lived on a farm for many years.

Mrs. Reese's husband preceded her in death. Because of failing health she came to Winterset several years ago to make her home with Mrs. Vanderburg.

She is survived by four children: Frank Reese of Yates Center, Kan., Mrs. F. M. Pearsall of Wichita, Kan., Mrs. W. H. Newshouse of Omaha, Neb., and Mrs. Vanderburg. She also leaves 10 grandchildren and four great grandchildren.

In early life she became a member of the Christian church at Oskaloosa. Since coming to Winterset she had affiliated with the United Presbyterian church here.

Funeral services are to be held this Thursday at 2 p.m., from the Ramsey-Richards funeral home. Burial will be made in the Wight cemetery.
