MRS. EMMA PATTERSON DIES

St. Charles--(Special)--June 14

A sad tragedy occurred at the depot in St. Charles Saturday evening. Mrs. Emma Patterson of Des Moines came up on the evening train to spend the weekend with her brother, A. C. Alcock and wife west of town. She had gotten off the train and into her brother's car when she was stricken with a heart attack and died instantly without ever speaking a word. She is survived by two daughters, one with whom she made her home in Des Moines, and also had a number of relatives in and around St. Charles. The body was returned there Saturday evening. She was a sister of the late Henry Alcock, well known to the people in this community.
