MRS. CHARLES STILES OF WINTERSET DIES

Funeral Services Held at St. Charles. Burial in Cemetery There

Mrs. Charles Stiles, well known Winterset and Madison county woman, died last Saturday at the age of 66 years.

Mrs. Stiles was the former Marthola Snider, daughter of Uriah and Mary Snider, and was born in Warren county on July 10, 1876.

She was married to Charles Stiles on Feb. 8, 1898. They were the parents of one son, Thomas Dwight Stiles, now of Ft. Dodge.

Mrs. Stiles had been a member of the Methodist church since her youth. The family lived in Patterson where Mr. Stiles had a grocery store, and later moved to Winterset where Mr. Stiles served as county supervisor, and later worked for the county.

In addition to her husband and son, she leaves two grandchildren; Jack and Rosemary Stiles of Ft. Dodge; three brothers, Fred Snider of Leon, W. B. Snider of Des Moines, and T. U. Snider of St. Charles; and two sisters, Mrs. Elmer Farver of St. Charles, and Mrs. A. V. Bean of Patterson.

Funeral services were held from the St. Charles Methodist church, in charge of the Rev. W. A. Samp, pastor of the Winterset Methodist church, assisted by the Rev. Michael Millen of the St. Charles church. Burial was made in the St. Charles cemetery.
