Death Occurred at Home in Macksburg, at Age Of 79 Years
Mrs. Myrtle Kirkland of Macksburg died Sunday, April 19 at her home there. She was 79 years of age.
Mrs. Kirkland was a life-time resident of Madison county. She was born here Aug. 19, 1884, a daughter of Andrew and Nancy King Edgington. She was a member of the Methodist church and the Woman's Relief Corps.
She was married Jan. 7, 1903 to George Kirkland. He preceded her in death.
She leaves eight children, Mrs. Bernice Young of Macksburg, Harlan Kirkland of Larson, Mo., Mrs. Grace Younkin of Pleasanton, Calif., Mrs. Dorothy Young of Macksburg, Worth Kirkland of Greeley, Colo., Cleve Kirkland of Lorimor and Ralph Kirkland of Macksburg. She also leaves 24 grandchildren and 38 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held this Tuesday from the Macksburg church, conducted by the pastor the Rev. Donald Frank. Burial was made in Moon cemetery, Macksburg.

Myrtle Kirkland passed away early Sunday morning at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Young. Funeral services were Tuesday afternoon at the Methodist Church, with burial in the Moon Cemetery. Wilsons were in charge of the body.

LORIMOR – Mrs. Myrtle Kirkland, 79, died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Ralph Young, at Macksburg, Saturday night. She was a longtime resident of the Macksburg community.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Methodist church at Macksburg. Rev. Donald Frank will officiate. Burial will be in the Macksburg cemetery.
Mrs. Kirkland is survived by eight children, Worth and Harlan Kirkland, both formerly of Creston but now living in Missouri, Mrs. Dorothy Young, Mrs. Ralph Young and Ralph and Cleve Kirkland, all of Macksburg, Mrs. Grace Younkin in California and Floyd Kirkland in Colorado.
She had been in failing health for some time.
